Stock blocking

In this document, we will explain how to block stock in the system. Blocking stock can be useful in various situations, such as when a group of stock (temporarily) may not be shipped or when you want to reserve stock for a specific customer.

How do I block stock?

Stock can be blocked at several locations in the application:

  1. During unpacking of an incoming order: When you unpack an incoming order, you can immediately block the stock you receive. This is handy if you know that this stock must not be available for shipping right away.
  2. Via a stock correction: Perhaps the most common method. By means of a stock correction, you can block stock at specific locations or suddenly block all available stock.
  3. On the product details page, you can also easily block all stock for that product in one click.

Automatic blocking

Stock can also be automatically blocked based on its expiration date. So, stock that is nearing expiration will no longer be available for new orders.

This setting can be found in the stock section of the product settings.
